This Is What Laptop Bag On Wheels Looks Like
Order it Wednesday night and was at my door before noon on Friday. Amazon, you did it again!
So a little bit of background info. I am more or less a traveling salesperson. Besides a 16′ laptop, I also carry a secondary screen that’s about the same size and just as heavy. Padfolio for notes, give away pens, my files, client files and basically bring my office with me. I hurt my shoulder so using my shoulder carry bag was starting to be really painful. Needed something that I can wheel around while my shoulder rest. I figured that at this price, this is disposable if it ends up to be a crap bag. So far, first impressions are positive.
— Overall Size —
It’s just a bit thicker than my normal shoulder carry bag and just a bit taller. I say the empty weight is about 3~5 lbs and it’s pretty much in line with a shoulder carry
— Storage Space —
Roomy. The first section (the small front pouch) can be opened pretty wide. you can see that in the pictures. I used a dollar bill so you can get some perspective. However, the little divider sections in the pouch are kind of a joke. I wish they would have made less section and make the pockets in there bigger.
The midsection has a dedicated space for a laptop. Fit my 16-inch laptop and additional screen fine. Nice touch by adding padding at the bottom of that portion. I think it will offer some minor protection if you drop it a little. DIdn’t do a drop test tough. There is additional space for my padfolio and files right next to the laptop section. It’s pretty big. However, it shares space with the 3rd section of the bag. See pictures
The third section is where the handle is located. I took a picture on the top of that section when the handle has been retracted and zipped. You can see it bulging quite a bit. Kind of weird to look at. But I don’t expect to ever put the handle away so it’s not a big deal. But just wanted to point it out.
I need this to function, not to look pristine. There is some additional space here but the funny part is that the divider “wall” between section 2 & 3 is not sowed all the way to the bottom. So if you place something small in there, it could easily be rolled to section 2 of the bag. Not sure why they designed it this way. But not a deal-breaker for me since I plan to keep folders in that section. But if you carry a lot of small parts and need to keep organized, I would put them in ziplock bags beforehand.
— Mechanics & Material—
Solid. The outer shell seems sturdy, wheels roll fine and the handle is nice. As for the handle, when pulled out at full length, it comes up to my belly button and I’m a bit over 5’8. Wheeling, it was quite comfortable. Haven’t load it up completely yet but the dry runs feel decent. The wheels do take up a very small amount of space in section 3 of the bag. However, your contents are protected by a piece of hard plastic between the wheel and the bag so I don’t expect any damage to your things. There is just a thin fabric between the bag and the handle arm that extends inside the bag to the bottom. I would watch it if you are going to carry delicate items.
Lastly, I would say the price. At $35 bucks, I consider this bag to be disposable. Not that I have $35 dollars to throw down the drain but I feel that it is offering quite a bit of value. I was concern about other reviewing talking about the wheel not lasting as long. However, since my trips are mostly around parking lots and office buildings, I figured that I can take that chance. I will update if the wheel fails for the light amount to “towing” I would be doing. That would be a pretty major fail if it can survive trips around a parking lot. Time will tell.
I replaced a worn-out Samsonite rolling computer bag (retailed for $200-300) with this Amazon Basics rolling computer bag. The Amazon bag functions at least as well, and perhaps a bit better. I like the Amazon bag for multiple reasons:
1. Very suitable for my device and all its accessories(portfolio binder, pens, business cards, small AC adapter, mouse, external keyboard (mini), Wi-Fi range extender, Ethernet cable, presentation tool, cable lock, …), an inch or two stacks of documents, umbrella, flashlight, etc.
3. Smaller outside than the Samsonite, but seems to have just as much capacity
4. Wheels are very quiet when rolling
I am beyond impressed!! I just started nursing school and an over the shoulders backpack was just not cutting it with how heavy it was.
Only thing I’m questioning is that the handle feels a little flimsy when stuff is added to the bag, but we’ll see how it holds up.
Great quality and it is very light! I picked up the package assuming it was going to be way heavier. Very excited to use!
Wonderful case. Plenty of storage space.
The laptop compartment is JUST barely big enough.
it’s a very snug fit, but it works I even have a mouse dongle sticking out, which can get hung up unless I’m careful.
Add in the charging cable, my wireless trackball mouse, about 30 files, another smaller laptop w/cable + mouse, and my essential office supplies (calculator, pens, etc), and I have a mobile office I can take anywhere.
It rolls smoothly, is well balanced, and the extending handle is plenty long if you’re on the tall side.
The only issue I’ve seen is that if you carry a lot of weight, the fabric handles will rip. My boyfriend works in IT and carries laptops and cords around, so he got the same case given the storage space and reasonable price. The handles ripped within a week…they just aren’t sewn on strongly enough to withstand the angle to carry by the handles. HOWEVER, my workaround seems to have prevented the issue for my case.
I just twist the handles together so the tension is inward instead of upward. They’ve held up fine.
Basically I’m too lazy and too old to carry around heavy textbooks and all that around a huge campus, let’s face it colleges are a lot bigger and include a lot more walking than high school.
I 100% believe that the pics don’t do this bag enough justice so I’m posting some of my own!
I love that it is like a purse with the handles so I can easily carry upstairs/etc.
The first zipper is great has a LOT of room for supplies such as pens, sticky notes, etc
The second zipper is just as great!
The last section is my favorite because I was really nervous as to how big it was and it’s more than enough space for some notebooks and textbooks! I was nervous overall while having this is my cart because I questioned if the amount was worth it but now that I have it I can say 100% that it is! This is completely worth the investment! Size is perfect, it’s also a harder shell-like well-made luggage so you don’t have to worry about it bending it over time. I have a lunch box that straps to handles and I’ll be putting it on top and walking around with it!
This bag has been one of the best purchases I have made this year. It saves me from having to carry heavy books, school supplies, computer, etc in a shoulder/book bag. My back is bad enough. It is very sturdy and rolls really well. It serves its purpose well.
love this bag. It is wonderful for doing traveling exhibits.
– has plenty of space to put lots of promotional materials. It is sturdy and well made.
I am updating this after almost 2 years of use.
I can even put my laptop and a projector in it.
Other exhibitors who see it comment and ask where I got it. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for such a product.
– after all the use I write of. As you can see it has held up very nicely.
It has been extremely helpful for transporting college books and my laptop.
It has poured rain down on me however the inside of my bag was not wet.
The fact that it locks is another plus no noisy people are getting into your bag. But if they do it’ll be loud enough that you’ll hear your bag unlocking. The only bad part is I did have a part of the bag come off. But it was easily put back on the bag. I’m most sure what it is called. But I have provided a picture for you. All in all the back is useful, beautiful, and secure. I was very skeptical seeing the reviews but so far mine is good I’ve had it since March 2018. I’ll keep you posted and happy shopping.
Stop looking!! Buy this bag! It retails for $200 everywhere! Beautiful! Front compartments for electric stuff Open file system that has secure straps to keep paperwork very organized. Plenty of room for computer & Ipad. A great front fabric cover & many strong zippers’ The back of This is a hard shell, very dutiable & double wheels on all 4 wheels! So excited to give it to my guy, A spinner is the only way to travel. And the handle is long enough for a tall guy & my bag attached when we travel TY Amazon
The case is an excellent case and I am very happy with it. I teach part-time at a college so I need to carry everything with me. It has a place for a pen and pencil, but I use more writing utensils then these. I also use several small items which got lost in the bag so I bought a pencil case that had some extra pockets in it. This case fits nicely in the back part along with an umbrella, water bottles, and a couple of binders. The file section is broken up into two sections. I fit 2 or3 files in each section. The wheels roll smoothly whether I am using two or four wheels. The bag does have a tendency to tip over if you have the handle up and heavy files in it.
